Surrounded by maroon and orange and the OC Hokies, I watched Coach Frank Beamer’s final Thursday night game with none other than “The Voice of the Hokies” himself—Bill Roth. The location? Sharkeez in Huntington Beach, CA. The energy? Pure Blacksburg. This night was about more than football—it was about legacy, community, and never letting go of home.

After a 34-year gap, Virginia Tech and South Carolina are squaring off once again — this time in the 2025 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Think about it: last time these two met, people were still recording games on VHS and BeamerBall was just getting started.
